Smells like plastic   January 7, 2009 While the top layer is soft and nicely quilted for comfort, the bottom layer is made of vinyl and has a very strong odor of plastic. Hopefully, with repeated washings this will dissolve if not, I can't have my newborn sleeping and breathing in plastic fumes so I will have to return this product. There is no leaking through, no matter how wet it gets. It launders well, time and time again. It is a great product.
