Mozart Magic Cube December 16, 2008 I may like this toy more than my daughter. My favorite thing is to do a bit of orchestration by adding and subtracting the various instruments. I do find the tone of the piano mildly discordant and usually remove it from all of the tunes.
As for baby, this toy is great for putting an end to the occasional crying jag. She presses the buttons easily. I don't think she's got it all figured out yet, but it's one of her favorite toys. We also love the soft rounded corners on this toy. I've seen my daughter giving them a nibble now and then.
The cube is durable. My baby often pulls it off the shelf to send it thudding to the floor and it still works.
It is a bit big and rather heavy for a child to carry. However, my only real complaint is the packaging. When I received the cube, it was fastened in with plastic coated wires that ran through holes in the cube. I cut them with scissors at first only to have them stuck in the cube. I finally wrapped the remainder around a letter opener and pulled it free. The cube comes with no instructions on removing these wires.
Quick mention: You'll need a screwdriver to install the batteries.
5 stars. Great toy. Neat concept. I think my daughter will grow to love this toy more over time.
toys December 16, 2008 Very pleased with this product. Babies love music and this one is great. Received the item in the estimated time frame. Overall very pleased.
Hard to Hold December 16, 2008 The buttons are not easily pushed to play a sound. It's a good thing that the corners are rubber bumpers because the cube is not an easy item to hold. The music is great, but interest is lost with the difficulty in pushing the buttons.
My baby liked it from age 12 months and still plays with it at 3.5 years! December 13, 2008 This toy has been the one toy my son consistently played with. He loved it from about 10 months to 2 years, and even now picks it up and plays with it. Initially he learned to press the sides and the "on/off" cause and effect. Now he uses it to piece together the various instruments and even sings along to "twinkle, twinkle little star." Definitely worth the money!
Boring toy that kids ignore -- don't waste your money. December 10, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't really understand all these rave reviews -- 3 year old touched this once and since then this toy has been left in the corner. The 3 year old has a ton of toys and this toy simply doesn't match up. I suppose if you only have one toy, kids might play with it; otherwise don't waste your time. The buttons are not easy to push and the music is boring. Sounded like a great concept, but was a waste of money.
