5 out of 5 stars Great photo organizing software!!!   December 27, 2008
GOODS: - Allows multiple filter levels (person/place/event) to organize your pictures.
- Easy amateur photo editing
- Sharing prints with shutterfly is drag and drop...very easy

OTHERS: - Initial program load can take awhile
- auto face recognize utility misses a lot of faces.

This software is great! I used elements 6.0 for awhile and this upgrade is well worth it. I have a lot of family that are not computer savvy at all so having the ability to drag and drop a bunch of pictures to their name and one click sends an order is very easy and convenient.
I cannot accurately rate the photo editing as I get lost trying to use photoshop CSE. Anything I want to do with a photo I can without any trouble so I think it is great based on my limited photo editing experience.
I recommend this product if you want to organize all your pictures.

5 out of 5 stars Adobe Elements 7   December 27, 2008
Elements 7 is a vast improvement over Elements 5. I like the product - it's one of the best in the industary.

Had version 5, when I moved a new computer & reinstall just a year later found that the plugin for my Nikon camera was no longer available on the adobe web site, forced to 'upgrade' to a new version for close to full price. They want you to keep on buying, so watch out. Makes the free versions much more compelling.

2 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0   December 24, 2008

I have been a user of Adobe Photoshop Elements since Version 5. Several months ago, I upgraded to Version 6 and immediately began having problems with the software shutting down unexpectedly when editing photos. Adobe was no help at all in resolving the problem. I quit using the software (found Picasssa works pretty well) for awhile and then decided to upgrade to Version 7.0. Guess what? Same problem occurred with that version. When I first open the software in editing mode, it seems to load okay, and then I get the error message that says it has to shut down. Once again, the only suggestions you get from Adobe is like the advice from Microsoft when the same thing happens to their operating systems: sorry! I am using a computer with XP Pro, 2 GB memory, 3.02GHZ P4 processor and over 500GB of drive space. I have read complaints from others having the same problem on both versions. Unfortunatey most users are on their own in coming up with fixes to broken software. I may have to reinstall Version 5 to get software that works properly, and live without some of the newer features. I would hestitate to recommend this upgrade to anyone based on my personal experience with it.

5 out of 5 stars Great product, easy to use   December 24, 2008

My pictures usually come out pretty good, so don't usually edit my pictures a lot. However, for the occasional red eye this version does a much better job of fixing it with just a simple mouse click (compared to my previous version 2.0). Light level fixes are very easy, I like to use the 'levels' control for this type of adjustment. Another thing fun to do is to generate black and white pictures. Photos taken in good lighting usually will have no issues, but in poor lighting, the 'despeckle' function (under the filter->noise menu) is great to remove grains from the pictures. Definitely recommend this program for anybody with digital photos to fix up.
