5 out of 5 stars The best pedometer I have owned   January 6, 2009
I have owned this pedometer for exactly 7 months now and it and the software still works fine I replaced the batter 2 weeks ago so the battery lasts about 6months exactly what its supposed to, great product very accurate and I get to keep track of my better months to see improvement or if Im slacking off!

5 out of 5 stars Accurate and Easy - Get one and get moving!   January 4, 2009
We got 2 of these about a month ago. We calibrated them easy using a measuring wheel to accurately assess distance. The units do a better job of counting steps than any other pedometers we have used. The unit comes with a holder with a built-in clip and a supplementary lanyard with a clip. I found out that I need both of them because I am pretty active and the built-in clip does not always stay attached to my pants. Be aware that pedometers are for walking. Use a Nike+ with your iPod or a Garmin when you go running. The software is pretty intuitive and the installation did not cause any problems on our computers, which are running Windows XP. If you are at least modestly computer literate, you should have no problems with it. The software is the reason why we bought these. It is much more fun and more motivating if you can see your progress (or not!). So get one and get moving. It's fun, it's cheap, and it's good for you!

5 out of 5 stars Motivator   January 4, 2009
A great motivator! The chart & progress charts & graphs allow for easy
tracking.I now walk 4-5 miles a day.My weight is dropping & blood pressure & cholestrol are text book.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent pedometer, lousy belt clip.   January 1, 2009

I can honestly say that carrying this pedometer around and down loading the results to my computer has increased the length of my walks and how often I go for a walk. Also, at work I will often take the stairs instead of the elevator. This pedometer gives you a lot of information to help you in your trek to better personal fitness but I mainly use the # of steps with a goal of 10,000 a day. The software is pretty nifty and can be modified to meet your own personal fitness goals. And yes, it will load on a computer with the Vista operating system. Just make sure you have upgraded to Vista SP1 (which is free for any authorized owners of the Vista operating system). The only problem I have had with this pedometer is the belt clip. It is totally a piece of junk and needs serious redesigning. I am on my third HJ-720ITC because of that belt clip. I will from now on be wearing the pedometer around my neck or keeping it in my pocket. The supplied belt clip is going straight into the trash can.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding everyday fitness tool   December 31, 2008
I've used my Omron HJ-720ITC pedometer a couple of months now, simply slipping it into my pocket each day as I head out for work. It works very well, counting my steps as a walk several blocks across downtown from my parking garage to my office. Watching the tally, I can easily add extra walking to bring my total daily mileage to an ever increasing level.

The unit seems to work well in my pocket; no need to clip it to my belt like more basic pedometers. So far it's holding up very well with no signs of wear and tear.

The software is easy to use and provides a handy record of daily walking however I find that simply noting my daily walks gives me sufficient feedback to keep me on target for a walking exercise program.

I'm amazed how well the device works and recommend it to anyone seeking a straightforward, accurate method of keeping track of walking exercise.
