Top leaks January 6, 2009 I have the smaller version and never had a problem w/ leaks, but w/ this one, even w/ the sippy part pushed down and the cap on, it still leaks.
Also, it's worth buying the overpriced neophrene holder, since if you drop the bottle it'll ding/dent.
A Green Gift January 6, 2009 I wated to give practical gifts that had meaning to the environment. I chose the Kleen Kanteen Statinless Steel Water Bottle after looking at other products because of the size and cap offered at a competitive price. I ordered 10 bottles, and they were delivered within days of the order. Everyone has been very satisfied, including myself. It is easy to clean, easy to carry and I know I am not contributing to the plastic bottle waste.
These water bottles are great! January 6, 2009 Bought four of these water bottles for my family. No matter how often we cleaned out our plastic water bottles, they always had a bad odor. We have had these water bottles for about two months now and love them. No odors and we love the larger size so we don't have to keep filling them. Works great for the kids during school and my husband at work. I made color coded bands so that each family member knows which bottle is theirs. These bottles fit nicely in the side of backpacks, lunch boxes etc. Our family is very pleased with our puchase and we tend to drink more water because of how clean it tastes.
Like it, but . . . January 6, 2009 The trouble with this kanteen that I hadn't thought of before buying it is that it's not insulated. So when you put your cold drink in it, expect a VERY cold bottle. Then there will be condensation all over it until your drink is no longer very cold! Another thing is, it doesn't fit into any of our small lunch coolers.
But I like the size (27 oz) for my husband; it's a little much for me, though. And I love the stainless steel container because it seems cleaner than a plastic one. Especially with all the info about plastics these days.
No More Landfill January 6, 2009 This "kanteen" is the perfect answer to portable water. Instead of buying cases of bottled water, I purchase & use the refill service for gallon containers of R.O. water at my local grocery store, thereby getting better water and only paying $0.99 per refill instead of $5.00 to $8.00 on a case of "who knows what's in that bottle" water. The one drawback, it's not an insulated carrier so liquids are at room temperatures and if you put in something hot, beware of toasted fingers.
