Sigg water bottles are the best January 6, 2009 We love Sigg water bottles. They don't have a metallic taste. Our family switched over to Sigg water bottles to help the environment and get rid of all the unclaimed plastic water bottles that we had when we bought bottled water. The cleaning tablets are also great for cleaning the water bottles.
Nice looking. VERY fragile. December 21, 2008 This is a beautiful bottle. The mouth of it fits my mouth great. However, it's so fragile. You've read the reviews of people frustrated by how easily this dents if you drop it. I don't care if I have some dents. But, I had my hands full the other day, and I dropped my water bottle on the sidewalk from waist level. The drop pierced the bottle, and now it leaks. It's garbage now. A $25 water bottle should stand up to more than that.
Great Design, Great Quality December 4, 2008 The 1.0 liter SIGG Lifestyle Water Bottle was everything I expected. My SIGG is both sturdy and lightweight, as promised in the product description. It endures everyday travel very well; I bring it to school and work with no issues. All of this is and they are safe too! As described, "A ground-breaking interior lining is 100% effective against leaching..." so your drinks stay free of harmful chemicals. Also, there are no funny tastes associated with it. Water tastes like water. Most of all, there are numerous unique and beautiful designs to choose from.
Pros: +Sturdy +Light +Safe from leaching +Many beautiful designs to choose from
Cons: - Price - Dents and nicks somewhat easily
Overall, this water bottle is great if you want to spend at least $20 and like unique, beautiful designs. It is a very good water bottle, but there are many worthwhile alternatives. For example, if you want a cheaper, yet still safe water bottle, Camelbak offers 1.0 liter water bottles for $15 or less.
Wonderful Water Bottle November 23, 2008 This water bottle is everything it is supposed to be. It has a cool, unique look that draws compliments and keeps my water very cold. No more plastic bottles for me.
Sigg VS Klean Kanteen October 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like simple things that work. I don't need all the cool looks or the latest in style. Because of this I bought the Klean Kanteen. Its light fits into my bike water bottle holder great. With one use it got scratched pretty bad, but it was only $15.00...so I'm not complaining. The rest of it is very sturdy.
Prior to buying the KK I wanted to buy the Sigg bottle, but the cost was higher and it has a smaller opening for your mouth, which I didn't think I would like. This weekend my wife purchased the Sigg for me, as s gift, and I've been using it all weekend. It's now sitting on my desk at work and my KK is going back home as a backup.
The Sigg is just as light as the KK and holds more liquid. I don't think the KK had a bad taste at all, but the Sigg is even better. I choose the Sigg because of the form factor. It's just better to drink from. When you pick it up and, put it to your mouth, it performs better. Also, with the lager base it sits better on my desk and I'm not worried it will fall over. The KK is too thin for my daily use.
BTW- I'm not one to worry about the coating and the leaching (plastic or Aluminum) - I don't get into all that and really don't see any evidence that it's going to hurt me in the short or long term. So if you are looking for a great bottle to drink from you can't beat the Sigg.
