5 out of 5 stars Perfect   October 14, 2008

I bought this for my husband last christmas...
He's the foreman of a garbage company and is out in all types of weather, rain, snow, heat...his steel toe boots are constantly getting wet from the elements or from sweat during the summer. Even if he would leave them in a warm, dry place over night, most times they wouldn't be dry in the morning when he left for work.

This dryer/warmer is awsome! His boots are always dry in the morning. The thing is blessedly silent, no noise what-so-ever. It does not 'blow' hot air into the boot, it simply heats and the heat rises through the chambers and fills the boot. Because it does not blow air, if you are trying to quick dry something, I would suggest getting a different style dryer that blows the air like a hair dryer or something.

I would recommend this to anyone who want nice dry and warm boots or gloves!

5 out of 5 stars GOOD BARGAIN, WORKS WELL   December 8, 2007

Does what it says. Dries your boots over night. Havent had my boots real wet tho, only normal after work drying. Gave it five stars cause it was the cheapest convection style boot dryer which was recommended by red wing shoes.but any how, tips: It stinks when you first put ur boots on the dryer, i keep mine on my inclosed porch cause they smell for at least an hour, maybe it is just me. Make sure you have a semi warm and well vented area or you will smell it. If its too cold it doesnt dry as well. I Have had to throw away boots before cause of smell from long hours in the field, seems to have it in check so far, oh and dont make the mistake that i did and think it was going to be instant, it takes at least 5 hours most the time some times 7 or 8. Plan on buying a dual unit or better unit if you plan on drying more than one pair, if this one ever breaks i will for sure.

I bought this for my 10" military style boots and it does a great job without drying out the leather. And it's completely silent. The warmth just flows up into the boots drying them fast.

We live in the south, so this dryer was purchased to dry boots that have gotten wet with rain water, not snow. My husband has already used it twice and really loves it. I was worried it wouldn't be that great because the price was very good, but it seems to do just fine!
