Very disappointing though great looking... December 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had such great hopes for these boots and looked long and hard to find what I thought would be the ideal blend of "foxy" winter fashion and waterproof warmth. As the reviews were almost universally positive (though once you read into them the descriptions didn't always match the stellar ratings), I even upgraded the shipping to get them right away. They DO look great but I not only found them to run EXTREMELY large (much larger than the half size most seemed to mention), they were very uncomfortable and almost pushed the leg forward with a sensation similar to wearing a ski boot. Add to that the fact that there was no noticeable arch support and top stitching that didn't look even, these were a huge disappointment. I decided that rather than put many stars as others have and then put info in them about the sizing, running to narrow/tight inside to tuck in jeans, etc., that I'd try to be more realistic in the rating. Unfortunately, these are going back right away.
Love them but they run big! December 29, 2008 I am usually 8 1/2 - 9 so I got the 9. They ended up being more like 9 1/2 to ten. I have a modest to small frame size so the boots were not tight at all in my calves.
Overall they are really big boots, the sole width is quite wide. And they are heavy. So if you are planning a lot of walking, keep in mind they may tire you out a bit.
Order them at leaast 1/2 size smaller. And yes, this includes wearing a pair or two of heavy socks.
But they are super cute.
Warm and comfortable December 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was looking for some cute waterproof winter boots and these fit the bill. While we don't get much snow here in the Pacific Northwest, we do have a lot of rain and cold days, and I needed some warm, and cute, waterproof boots.
The only downside to these boots is that the inner liner is pretty tight, and unless you have really skinny calves, you might have trouble tucking pants into the boots. Otherwise they are a great buy.
Nor'easter gal December 4, 2008 These are amazing shoes! So comfy, they fit like a glove. I too think they run big. I wear an 8 1/2 and i tried on the 8's and they pretty much fit.
Love this boot November 29, 2008 I love this boot! It's comfortable & has great look! It seems to be well made, but I will not know til after we get our first good snow of the year.
