Sure, the sling is nice, but where is the bottle? I never received the stainless steel water bottle.

I like the idea of the stainless steel but it it very difficult to drink from. Would like an air hole so you could drink more freely.

Kleen Kanteen steel bottles are stronger than other less expensive brands. If you're going to be carrying a 40oz bottle, this is a good addition. It is simply a holder with an adjustable sling. If you are putting the bottle in a backpack, this is not for you. I always thought plastic water bottles leach chemicals into the water and this has been recently confirmed. Go with stainless steel with everything you can -- including your cookware and storage containers. No plastic or non-stick for me.
OK, two more things: The sport-bottle cap leaks so go with the poly loop and the stainless cap has serious design flaws that allow it to hold dirty water (nasty).

may be costly sounding but figured in 10 years I'll still be using it so it was worth the cost--much easier to tote the companion ss water bottle when it's over your shoulder.

The sleeve fits a bit tight on the bottle, which can make it hard to get on and off sometimes, but once it's on you know it is secure. It makes it very easy to take the water bottle on walks, etc.
