Awesome bow November 17, 2008 Awesome bow, some of the other review are little off center, not the products fault if someone returned a faulty item. Also If your son or daughter is ten, it is time to step up to a different bow. My son is 6 and he is glowing with excitement. Bow works good has great power is easily adjustable for different strengths. Is a smaller version of daddy's bear bow and he is shooting great. I am loading a video of him shooting before we put on the site and the quiver. Just got all the add ons set up and it looks really cool. Would buy again and great starter bow for kids!
A Nice Lil' Bow November 17, 2008 This is a pretty nice bow. Of course you can guess its range is small, but it works great for beginners who have never handled a bow and would like to start learning.
Great Bow! July 30, 2008 Good product at a great price. My son loves his bow and uses it all the time.
Poor design. March 28, 2008 I purchased this as a replacement bow for an old bow of a different brand. With the old bow my son, 10, was consistently shooting 6-10 inch groupings. Not pro, but not bad. That being said, I'll list all the things wrong with this bow. The sight is cheap plastic and easily broken. Ours did break. The threads of the thumb screw that holds/adjusts the sight do not match up well with the threads of the site. The stresses of installing probably weakened the plastic. The instructions were OK, but illustrations did not match the supplied hardware for the sight. The bracket for the sight is held on by two tapping screws. The holes in the plastic handle are too large or the screws are too small and do not tighten down. These two screws are also too short which contributes to the poor fit. All of this we pressed on with, modifying and creating new parts determined to make it work. Once the newly created sight, which we made to the same dimensions as the old one, was securely installed we tried out the bow. The first problem was the sight would not adjust low enough. The arrows would dive into the ground a few feet short of the target. Knocking the arrow at different (and odd) angles helped a little, but not enough. Lastly, the arrow rest is horrible. It guarantees that the arrow drags through the rest and flips off to the right of where you are aiming. The sight adjusted all the way over would not come close to compensating. We had to aim a full two feet to the left to hit the target at 12 yards. I possibly could have altered the rest by tearing off the top portion of it, but by this time my patience had run out. There are some good points to some of the construction, but they are rendered meaningless due to the multitude of other problems. Save yourself the time and agony, spend the extra money and get a decent bow. You will thank yourself later.
Package opened, items missing, older model March 18, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was a gift for my 8-yr old's birthday. Unfortunately, the package was clearly opened when we took it out of the shipping box. Someone used a cable tie to shut it again- but it had already lost parts, and this wasn't noticed until we tried attaching the quiver and looked for the sight. Hopefully Amazon will come through on the missing items. It is worth noting that national competitors now sell a newer version in camouflage that is much sharper than the unfinished black plastic this comes in- at the same price. Would not recommend this given the above problems.
