Amazon.com Product Description Looking for an easy-to-use, lightweight traction device for your shoes? Turn to the spikeless Yaktrax Walker traction cleats, which offer 10 times the gripping points as any spike-based traction device. Ideal for pedestrians, the elderly, businesspeople, or anyone else who wants greater stability on ice and snow, the Yaktrax Walkers are terrific for walking to and from work, school, or even the mailbox down the street. (Mountain climbers should consider the Yaktrax Pro cleats, which are designed for more arduous conditions.) Each Yaktrax Walker is made out of an injection-molded thermal plastic elastomer that's lightweight yet durable. The coils are also protected against rusting, with a hand-wound design that provides 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. Every step you take in the Yaktrax Walker places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet, with the high-strength horizontal coils providing forward and backward stability while the vertical coil pattern provides side-to-side stability. And thanks to the sturdy outerband--which conforms to the length and width of your boot or shoe--the cleats fit securely throughout the day but slip off in an instant. Suitable for temperatures as low as -41 degrees F, the Yaktrax Walkers have been approved and recommended by the National Health & Wellness Club and the Handyman Club of America. The Yaktrax Walkers are available in extra-small, small, medium, and large sizes.

Yaktrax Are Awesome! January 5, 2009 Everything was solid ice this morning and cars were fishtailing. I was not looking forward to the one mile walk to work from the parking garage. But I put on my Yaktrax and while other people were walking in snow to avoid the ice, I was able to keep my usual pace on the ice sidewalk. The grip is great. The only thing is to remember to take them off as soon as you get in to your building, on solid, non-carpeted, indoor flooring, you may actually slip.
Yaktrax Walker Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice January 3, 2009 Love my Yaktrax! I would recommend this product to anyone that has to be out in icy or slick conditions. You can walk with confidence you will not slip and fall. Next year I will order these for family members at Christmas.
These are a must if you can't afford a fall on the ice. January 1, 2009 I walk with a cane, which is equipped with an ice cleat as well. I have a very bad back which causes me constant pain. Falling on the ice is something that can and has in the past required me to spend time recovering in the hospital. I had often simply stayed home-bound until ice melted because of my fear of falling until I found these shoe cleats.
They are something I simply can not live without now. I live in Indiana which is subject to frequent ice storms. The area is often covered in a uniform layer of very slick ice that is impossible to walk on for a person in good shape, let alone me.
Since finding these Yaktrax Walker Traction Cleats, I am able to check my mail, drive carefully to the store and go on and live my life normally without the constant fear of slipping and falling on the ice during the winter. They have given me back the freedom that I lost in the work accident that disabled me. If this all seems a bit much, well I guess it might be but if you had the same trouble walking that I do...
If you live in an area prone to slippery ice patches, you should have a pair of these on your shoes. They go on and are remove easily, don't mar a floor and give you a sure footing on a slippery surface. I can't imagine a better product for basic, winter outdoor safety.
Best thing since sliced bread December 28, 2008 My wife had been on me for years to try these since I work outside. Since we only get snow/ ice maybe 10-20 days a year here I just did not bother. Well we got a real good dumping of snow (for us) that came with 20 deg weather for a couple weeks. I finally gave in and tried these. I don't know why I waited. I went from slipping all over trying to walk in the packed ice, to almost feeling like I was walking on bare dry ground. They are amazing. Easy to put on and off, and they just work great.
Yaktrax and us December 27, 2008 My wife and I live with two Viszlas. These dogs love to romp afield. The result is we spend at least an hour or more a day walking, some times leashed to these two on our morning trundle but mostly where they can freely run on the trails and roads of a state-owned wildlife preserve here in Central New York.
In the summer we grab our Nordic walking sticks and put in a couple of miles a day.
Winter creates special problems. The unplowed roads of the state land are used by snowmobilers and skiers, and more often than not are slick with ice or hard-packed snow.
Yaktrax allow us to remain active in the winter. The traction provided is outstanding. In almost all conditions we have been able to traverse the ice-slick byways of the wildlife area, an activity we would never attempt wearing ordinary hiking boots.
Back in civilization, the Yaktrax have many times provided safety in slippery situations as they have the advantage of being easy to put on and remove. For local errands we carry regular Yaktrax in the car.
We use the Yaktrax Pro for our longer daily hikes. The combination of Yaktrax Pros on hiking boots and our walking sticks means we are very seldom stymied by poor walking conditions.
