No Vertical Hold September 4, 2008 I have had 2 Honeywell window fans, and in the past I have been very pleased. I had been able to insert them vertically, and the wings have stayed in position to hold the fan. This product arrived with a window bracket that needs to be screwed into a wooden window frame. The wings collapse if used alone, and will not hold the fan. I called Honeywell to tell them that I have a METAL window frame, and that the bracket won't work. They told me this model is discontinued, and there is nothing they can do.
Great Buy for the money September 4, 2008 I'm using this as an apartment fan for the summer when I don't want to use my AC. This thing is great and it has a lot more power then I expected when I opened it up.
Overall just a good product for the money and it's amount of usefulness.
Good fan but a little noisy September 2, 2008 Nice fan, but a bit noisy. In exhaust mode, the thermostat doesn't work very well to shut off on a cool night. Side extension release is hard to reach on the outside of the fan. They should have put them on the inside.
Outrageously loud September 1, 2008 This fan is unnecessarily loud. Modern technology allows for the possibility of great air flow combined with a modest sound. This fan is the loudest fan I've ever owned, even on its lowest setting. I definitely do NOT recommend it.
A little loud, but GREAT air flow! August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This fan really pushes the air through! Good thing it has it's adjustable direction vents! The round grate in front of the fans rotates, and is angled a little. Does not seem like much, but it does noticably change the direction of the air flow!
This window fan does, however, make a good hum throughout the room/half the house when running on high. It is a bit loud. It has gotten the nickname, "Bee Hive" in my house. However, I run it in my room while I sleep to cool the house, and I can get to sleep with it. It is more of a low drone, rather than a racket, so if you can sleep with steady background noise, it should be fine.
I really love this fan, it works great, and runs strong!
